How We Safely Deliver Meat to Your Business

Ever since Burts Catering Butchers was established in 1981, we’ve been committed to providing high-quality meat and service. Having expanded over the years, we are still keen to stick to this original philosophy.

As we are now one of the South Coast’s leading catering butchers, it’s more important than ever to maintain our high standards when it comes to delivering meat to our customers.

Temperature Controlled Vans

One of the ways we maintain the high quality of our produce is through temperature-controlled vans. These are specialist vehicles that make sure meat is kept in a chilled environment throughout the delivery process.

Burts Catering Butchers purchased their first temperature-controlled vans in 1989. This was put in place due to new health and safety and hygiene standards introduced. Since our first van in 1989, we now have a fleet of temperature-controlled vans that we use to deliver our meat across Sussex, Surrey and Kent.

Hygiene standards within the industry have improved drastically during our time in the industry. New technologies have helped Burts Butchers maintain higher hygiene and safety standards than ever before.

To continue to work towards our founding philosophy. We are always making sure we are up to date with the latest technology available. At Burt’s, we’re continuing to make sure we are serving the best quality produce in the South East.

Staying Up-To-Date

We make sure our temperature-controlled vans are regularly serviced to make sure they are working at their best at all times. This means we can guarantee our meat is coming to you in the best possible way.

We also change our vans on a 3-5 year cycle where possible, so that we can make sure we have the best technology and efficiency available to us. We use these vans to deliver all over the South East, including Sussex, Surrey and Kent.

The latest technology we have in our vans includes tracking and live updates. This means we know exactly where our vans are and when deliveries are being made.

To ensure the meat is kept at a constant chilled temperature, the vehicles are equipped with data loggers that record the internal temperature throughout the whole journey. This means that we know that your produce has been stored at the right temperature at all times.

We don’t use our vans for delivery outside the South East region. Occasionally, we do have customers a little bit further afield. When we have orders such as these, we supply them via our dedicated chilled haulage company Nagel Langdon’s. So wherever you are, we make sure that we supply the best quality meat, making sure that safety comes first.
